Anyone want an old Quantum alarm?

Guess it belongs here as it isn't actually for sale.

My insurance company are tough on me so I got a new thatcham alarm. Now I have an old Quantum alarm/immob from a 91 MkII 16v sitting around my flat. The alarm man cut it out real neat and it has one remote. Was all working till it got the snip - even the remote central locking. Alarm man commented on how well it was fitted coz it was done by its vw dealer.

Thought I'd better check with you guys before chucking it coz there's some unusual interests out there. Besides, if your insurance company are cool, it would add to an original mkII nicely.

So come and get it if ure in Norfolk or send me the postage and u can have it.

I'll wait a few days before visiting the bin.

PS sorry to any sellers who were hoping I'd buy their golf. But I just drove a mkII 16v 5 hours back from Manchester and said goodbye to my bmw. I'll get some pics up soon. Tis the mintiest one I've ever set eyes on. 2 owner (last since 94) 53k miles metalic black 3 door, garaged all its life. Even the outside temperature on the mfa is correct :-) You should see the black rubber - is like new. Anyways I could go on all night. Just happy! Did I say the e/w move like new

hrmmm didn't have time to test if it was   oops. If only i'd left a window down.  Says 998 VAG 040 JUN 1990 on the little black thing  . The remote says MP...rubbed off...340 W.T. LICENCE EXEMPT.

Well done roon, sounds like you're in GTI heaven
Mind you think I would be too, that sounds like one hell of a find, I think it would pretty much be my perfect GTI, even black would be my first choice of color!
At the moment I've got a mint 8v only done 67k, although I'm starting to think that I should have held out for 16v. Love to see some photos, you can see some pics of mine here (set this site up just in case I find a mint 16v):

Sounds like You found a black version of mine. Mine has done a few more miles at 70k though.  Excellent find mate. If You want to post some pics you are more than welcome to send them my way and I'll put them up on my site and send you the link to them.
