You will need the following:-

PC527- DIN to ISO aerial converter
A08- VW Amplified aerial booster.
PC2694- VW Harness

Both are Autoleads part numbers.

As for the pocket, the best fit is genuine VW as they have the lugs on the side that slot in, the pocket also holds the cage in place.

Well...... Golfs do have ISO connectors, but the wiring deviates from ISO standards - the switched and constant lives are swapped... So if you get one of the harness adaptors, it sorts it out. Some makes of Headunit do thoughtfully have a connector in the yellow and red wires to swap them over so you don't need the harness, but some don't... :)

doh! you are indeed right, I've put a nok02tel on mine for the phonekit so didn't have to do this with my head unit. Think I'm going senile. Vauxhall looms also do the trick.

Looms £7 posted, aerial amplifiers £5 from me

You need to start using the iso leads pc2-69-4 from 1998 due to the remote lead having power sent down it which can cause damage to your new unit.Go for a clarion some great features good sound quality very realiable.

Think that's mk4 only but you need to tell the dealer if you've changed the headunit before they plug their diagnostics in, it's not expecting to get a signal from the headunit down that wire!

Most, if not all should have cottoned on my now.

if you get an alpine, you might need to get a permanent live straight from the battery, too, i had to on my 9812RB, but that is 60x4w
