Door pocket speaker size/recommendations..???

My 16v is finally finished!  All I need now is to put some form of head unit in and fit speakers to the door pockets.

The car originally had the pull-down 'bins' but I have purchased OE grilles and want to fit some decent speakers in there.....anybody got recommendations and what size do I need for a perfect fit?

Similarly, what do I need for the back under the parcel shelf supports?

cant help but was just about to post the same question... also can u buy the speaker grills for the fronts new? or second hand only?

I got my speaker grilles from GPC (www.gpcvwaudi.co.uk) or they often appear on ebay....

The best way to go are components up front and a sub in the boot.

Make sure you have some good quality speaker cabling, because poor quality cables can let a system down.
You can get 6x4 speakers for the shelf supports, but they arent really worth it.

I have alpine SXS-1357 Type S speakers and they are brilliant, the mid/bass drivers are a direct fit in the door grills and the tweeters fit easily where the dash speakers should be.

Hamster, sounds good!  I take it you mean the speakers.....how much were they and are they any good?

sorry my mistake too many beers that part no is for the grills any 5 1/4 speakers will fit hope you got the nuts and rubber grommets to fit the speakers to the back of the grills i had to make my grommets out of rubber pipe
