Strange knocking and clicking

Can anyone help me. I have an 03 GTI 180 and every time i brake to slow down i hear a knocking/clicking coming from what sounds like the passenger footwell and it will still continue to do this after i have stopped and am stationary. It is not the brakes or suspension but i cant find out where the noise is coming from. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it could be so i can fix it?

By the way, love the car, powerfull, quick, refined, what more could you ask for!  :smiley:

Some sort of relay for the brakes maybe, not really sure, have you tried searching the forum?

Yep, should be warrantied. 03 reg must be under 3 years old. (1/3/03-31/8/03) :smiley:

Car's been in for its service and i told the dealer about the knocking/clicking coming from the passenger footwell, and quess what, they said they could'nt find the problem. I think its got something to do with the recirculator fan because when you press the button, you can hear the same clicking coming from the same place in the footwell. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this problem?

Also told them about the flat spot in the acceleration and to check the maf sensor but again they said there was nothing wrong. Main dealers are useless, i won't be going back there again!   :angry:
