might be woth a try if you can get it cheap enough and can fit it yourself. it cost me £80 to have my second hand one fitted to find out it didn't work.  :sad:

got the bloke coming round tomorrow to test my abs pump. he reckons it will be the ecu and i found this

As I'm going though the same problem as you, you'll have to keep me (and all) informed on what the bloke says about yours,  i'm tring to get hold of the warning lamp at the mo :wink: thats a start for me anyway.

YAY!!!  :grin: it works.

i'm not sure what just happened. the fella read the code of my secondhand abs unit that is fitted to the car. this came up as being for the wrong vehicle. he cleared the abs ecu memory, plugged my old abs ecu in, read the original fault on that (03604) and transrefed that onto the new ecu. he then cleared that off the new ecu and bingo. £ 35 . :grin:

he says it's very rare for mk3's to have abs unit problems.

Nice one mate :cool: Its always a buzz when you think your going to have to fork out big time then get a nice cheap fix aint it :smiley:

I bet its a releif to have the ABS working again. It certainly was for me!!

you're not kidding. i'm moving to a new flat next week and a big bill was the last thing i needed.
I am glad it works again cos i nearly slid into someone on the roundabout at the university ( fellow sheffielder  :wink:)
