Jack it up at the back, take hold of the bottom and top of the wheel and see if it wobbles in and out. If it does, usually means the bearings knackered.

probably bearings... usually you can hear it get louder and quieter when you go round medium fast sweeping bends...

If you've ever owned a renault 19 you'll know how to diagnose which bearing it is by the steering wheel!!

yeah it does seem to get louder and quieter when you go round corners and eccelerate, the noise was less noticable on the motorway cruising at 70, and was still appahrent when you coast with the clutch pressed in

Probably just needs regreasing and nipping up a little. Both my rear ones needed it when i first got mine.  The front ones are the non adjustable dry, pressed in type,  and yes, one of mine needs doing. !!!!

Erm, yes i did, i took it for a blast but the noise was not appahrent, it was only driven for about ten minutes around a residential area, so i guess i should of insisted on a longer run to stretch her legs a bit more. the noise comes and goes depending on speed.

i have not had time to check, but i feel sure it is the rear wheel bearings that are suspect.

If it is the bearings they arent that hard to do on the back at all .

Haynes give it a 3 Spanner Rating
