mk1 cab corrado seat swap
« on: 09 January 2006, 19:24 »
hiya peeps, i was just wondering if anyone knows whats invloved in a int swap in a mk1 cab,
ive got a g reg gti and am thinking of a seat trade as mine are in a but of a state.
ive seen the thing on matey matey racings website, but thats for a mk2 gti.
i know the fronts just straight swap but ive had conflicting stories about the rears.
heard that then just pop in and others saying that you need to strip the frames fron the old seats.

does anyone kno whow its done.
i know it can be cause a mate had a mk1 tin top with corrado seats in..

if its not too much of a job ill be on the look out fpr a decent set of grey seats with or without hump.

if anyone can let me know that would be great
tony..

i have mk2 g60 seats in my mk1, the fronts do fit straight in but on the g60 ones the bar to alter the position is the wrong way round (because they are left hand drive) so i have to get out of the car and pull the pin my self to change the seat position (but in uk cars i bet there just a straight swap and they should work fine) but that doesnt really bother me, the rears do kind of fit , they click in to the top but the angle of the seat is slightly different, the mk1 is more layed back so i had to take an angle grinder to them but i still havent got round to bolting them in proply as they arnt the same fixing points on the bottom of the chair. but the cab may be different!

only reason im asking is i dont want to make a total hash of it and i havent got loads of cash to spash about on destroying seats.

if it asl goe well ill have a set of cab seats for sale, not excelent condition but not past it by any means
