what size box?
« on: 08 January 2006, 18:41 »
Right, now i have your attention..... how big a back box can you sensibly put on a mk2 16v?

By how big, i mean what size tail pipe. I have got the car booked in for a full stainless manifold and Jetex system with Twin 80mm tail pipes.

If anybody has a similar system i'd be really grateful if you could let me know;

a) if the pipes fit comfortably within the aperture in the bumper. i.e they dont hang down / stick out miles so you can see the bacj box from the side etc,...

b) how loud is it?  i really want a quiet system but want the reliability and performance of a stainless product!  :rolleyes:

c) are there any other stainless systems to fit the 16v, with Twin pipes smaller than 80mm?

....its a 1991 run out edition by the way.  :grin:

Ta Muchly

Wxm.

jetex are pretty quiet but all systems will increase the noise, its all part of making it flow better...

yeah, you'd hope so anyway as the exhaust would be desinged for the car...

yeah they will fit quite snuggly into the bumper recess

jetex systems are one of the quieter systems so your safe on the noise front. just nice burble but not wake the neighbours type when your only idling!

I've got straight threw supersprint on mine with just back box onto 4branch. not as loud as you may think only when first started from cold ok after minute or so. Scorpions sound awesome tho with the twin tail cut back, Mates got one on his E30 m3 sounds mint. Look nice too. :smiley:
