The pictures below are that of a MK II Scirocco after the driver's door had been hit at over 100 MPH by an Escort RS Turbo. The car was sent spinning over 300 yards along the road.
All four of the passengers got out alive. The 2 on the passenger side got out without a scratch. The rear drivers side passenger had to be cut out, and lost one of his shoes, but had no injuries. The driver, who was thought to be dead by the police, was actually alive but unconscious and had only suffered a small scratch to the chest, and whiplash.
The police said that had they been in most other makes of car, then they would have all been killed.
