Oh Sh!t
« on: 03 January 2006, 23:10 »
My  cars are a 1990 Oak Green 16v, a 1983 Helios Campaign and my wife has a 1983 GLi Cabrio. Tonight my wife says that she is fed up with them and wants to get something modern, but I am horrified and will resist of course. She says that she is embarrassed to pick anyone up in the cars

I simply cannot do without the valver or Campaign, so do I sell the Cabbie or stall her until the good weather comes back? You will agree that I cannot really sell the other two. The are all nice cars with moderate miles, all taxed and Mot'd. The Cabbie is a total minter with only 65k genuine

I would buy another car but have no room.

What should I do?

If your cars are excellent on the outside, give her a modern refit on the interior.. it'll cost less than getting a modern car and it should keep her happy.

you won't make her change her mind... we're stubborn!

Is the cabbie hers then? or does she not have one of her own? if she wants a newer car.. i'd be tempted to offer her a mk4 tdi....  atleast she cud still have a vw!
