I had this for years on my 8v.
Caused by the rubber window seals causing excess friction. I believe the window mechanism detects excess frcition and takes it to mean that something is trapped in the window. So it goes back down. It's a safety feature to stop kiddies decapitating themselves by closing their neck in the window

. I *believe* you can simulate this by pressing down on the window when it's going up. This should stop it going up and send it back down.
Well - that's what I was told anyway! Try cleaning the seals to make it a more fluid motion. I always found my windows worked fine in the wet (bit of natural lubrication from the rain). But always had the problem in the dry.

Not much to worry about unless you really can't get the bu88gers to go back up at all!
