Richy
www.parkers.co.uk

go to car reviews, then golf +98, then performance and consumption.

R,R,R,L,L,L,D,D,D, and hey-presto, all golf engines to compare.

hope this helps.

I checked out the site, and it quotes the 1.8 non turbo GTI as 0-60 in 9.9 secs, but strangely enough it had 3 entries for 2.0 Golfs, each with quite different performance.  They all had 115 bhp but had 0-60 times of 10.2, 11.9 and 9 seconds!  How can the same engine produce such varied performance? The website didn't quote the number of valves, but if they one of these had more then you would expect greater horse-power.

Can anyone enlighten me, as to how this can be??!?!

Cheers

VW didn't do a 2.0 16v for the mk4 , only 1.8 20v and 2.0 8v. 0-60 in 10.2 secs sounds about right.
