well picked her up yesturday. its a gti blue/black/green depending on the light , 1990 1.6 driver 3door :)

im pleased with the condition of it and cant wait to start the project dub ;)

i got it for 280 quid with tax but its just failed the m.o.t, so got some questions for you guys.

it failed on the main beam not staying on. when u pull the stalk it just clicks back on to dip. it wont stay on main beam.

any ideas what needs replacing . i thaught just a new indicator stalk but want to double check first.

before you do all that balls, take the arm off and see if the clip that links the arm to the main beam is actually attatched, mine came off on my old valver, and i had to take the steering wheel off and all the wiper arm gubbins so i could re-attatch it, its only a small piece of plastic with a slot for a plastic clip to go through so it is possible it could of snapped or just popped off.

Failing that and you do need a new one they are £21 at gsf oh and its .com mate or go to a scrappers and get one for next to nowt. Thats the beauty of golfs you can spend sh!t loads or fook all on em and they keep on going. Oh and nice motor for the cash. I had 2 cheap vdubs one was a green mk2 1.6 f reg (low miles) £100 never gave me any probs apart from none of the windows opened and it didn't like 2nd much. The other was a mk1 1.5 gx great little car i had so much fun in this little motor, was in great condition had it off some uni girl, she had had it off some old dude who had kept it in great condition. The uni girl didn't know what she had and let me have it for £150 i drove it for 1 1/2 years and it never let me down.......
