« on: 07 November 2003, 21:51 »
Thinking of getting an UPsolute chip fitted to my PD150. Looking to hear from anyone out there that has one fitted to their car. Is it any good etc??????? What is the best chip/box to fit to a 150?

I've had the Revo Serial Port download software fitted to my PD150 and can recommend it. BHP upto about 190 (Rolling Road checked) and torque increased. Now seriously quick and much smoother than before. Much better than a plug in box as not visible (so no warranty problems) and does not interfere with MFA readout. Had my done by Stealth Racing who are a good outfit and worth the trip.

I was in my local VW dealership (Dixon Grimsby - no, don't laugh  ;D ), and they said that the likelihood of overheating was increased by chipping VW's 150 TDI plant.

Anyone had an experience of this happening? Just got the thing, but it needs to go faster.........

Any ideas/comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

No problems with overheating to date. I drive it hard and temperature never goes above 90 degrees C. Recommend using a decent engine oil such as Castrol SLX Longlife 11, which you've got to if you are on the variable servicing regime anyway. If you have it done, add diesel fuel cleaner immediately afterwards to clean the injectors.
