Mass air flow sensors
« on: 23 December 2005, 16:32 »
I think I have tracked the fault in my gti down to a faulty MAFS sensor, but while searching around I found this website which offers help with testing, rebuilding your own unit, they offer reconditioned units and you can try the part on your car to see if it solves the problem, if it doesn't you can send it back! I also found the sensor off my car ('91 gti 8v digifant) is not listed as for a Golf GTI but actaully for a '91 Seat Toldeo - might be useful info for those on the scrounge from breakers yards.

Well if your air flow meter is listed for a 91 SEAT Toldeo, thats probably why it isn't working right!  You need a 91 GTI Digifant one, part number 037 906 301 :)

Quite right, and my car has exactly this part fitted as you have stated - but if you search the site I listed for that part number, the car it lists as having it fitted is a '91 Seat Toledo. This means that when searching in scrapyards you could get the same part off a Toledo if there are no Golf GTI's available.

Easiest way is to download & install EMule, then paste this line into 'Update server.met from URL' on the server tab:

http://www.edk-files.com/x1/server.met

and press update. This will give you a mahoosive list of emule servers, then sort the list by 'Users' or 'Files' which normally gives you the server 'Razorback 2' at the top. Double click it to connect, and while you're here right click and set its priority to 'High'.

Then search for ETKA 6.3, and sort by size. You'll get 'VAG ETKA v6.31 (VW-Audi 512) + crack.iso (703.71MB) near/at the top, this is the one you are looking for. (Comes with the program, the crack and some updates)
