Suggestions on of how to tidy this mess up.........
« on: 20 December 2005, 14:12 »
Any ideas welcome.

The only thing that seems to be routed sensibly are the fuel lines. The rest is such a jumble, its a shame cos the car looks pretty much spot on apart from when you lift the bonnet.

Make an mdf pannel to cover it all! Not much you can do really. you could start by getting some ht lead clips and line them up nice.

I know it sounds tacky but buy a fake braided hose kit from halfrauds and tidy it up using them. Would add a little bit of fake bling to the bay aswell.

  • If in doubt, pay someone else to do it!

that could work slick, just think that clipping some of those wires together so they run in line is about all u can do with out spendin a fortune. Some polished bits under there always catch the eye too

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

Cheers guys,

Don't open the bonnet, simple but the most efective.

Any idea if there is anyone that makes proper braided coolant hoses, those halfords kits do work well to tidy them up, but they're a bit like faux carbon fibre in the styling stakes.

go round the engine bay with cable ties and convoluted tubing etc grouping things together. take as much off as you dare and clean it all and paint it. route all cables, etc behind stuff. get some coloured or at least clean black vacuum hoses. when i did mine i routed all the wiring loom through the chassis legs and then just hid as much as i could.....

team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post
