coil spring chop
« on: 15 December 2005, 14:32 »
i was thinking about lowering my mk3 by cutting the standard springs by a coil or two. i've asked several people and some have said it's fine to do while others have nearly passed out at the thought, claiming all manner of nasty things could happen. any advise please.

I'm with the latter more sensible members of your acquaintense!!!!

NO F**KIN WAY!

To do the job properly you have to use heat absorbing putty because you have to heat the end you cut off to bend it down to form a seating plane for the spring/plate

Just go buy some springs!!!!
