Is there no way for you to order a hood off a company in england and fit it yourself?.

seen a few on ebay lately as well... had been told its a tit of a job to do..its one of them things though do you get it or not, if you do you might regret it... but ive wnated one for years but the mrs wasnt too keen.... now shes gone what the hell...

also its better to regret something youve done rather than something you havent done...at the end of the day its only money isnt it...

I will tell you now you will not be able to fit a new hood yourself without any coachtrimmer experience, they are supposed to be b1tches to do and if you reckon you can cut out the hole for the back window and do it right first time, then go for it.  Expensive mistake if you get it wrong.

If she takes something stupid like £500 for the cab then buy it, if you pay 1k for it then it'll cost you between 4 - 700 to get a new hood bought and fitted properly so that's 14 - 1700 in it before you start doing anything else, but at the end of the day it's your money and your choice.  :undecided:

P.S. Cab's are for big girly hairdressers anyway.

what is everyone saying about putting new hoods on being a b*tch to do - that is total crap if you know what your doing. Phil if you get the cab mate I'll come over and fit the hood for you - I've done a few of them and they look perfect. The only real nervous part is cutting the hole for the back window - but I've made up a template for that now - so no real big issue on that side.

The only other issue to check is the frame that goes around the back window - if that is rotten - it will be expensive to replace unless you get another one from some muppet from ebay!!! hehehe

You don't want a cab mate - as gibby said - its a girly hairdressers car...!!!!!!!!!!      Thus why I've got one and gibby!!!!!!!
