Hello - finally took the plunge
« on: 11 December 2005, 14:47 »
After wanting a Mk 2 Gti for years and years, and somehow always choosing something else (Fiat Coupe Turbo, Peugeot Mi16, Civic Vti, Accord Type R, Cavalier Gsi 2000 - the list goes on) I finally did it and snapped up a lovely Oak Green 16V. Take a look here:

http://www.showoffyourcar.com/galleries.asp?carid=2000

Its got 139K on the clock, last 12 years MOTs, lots of history, rebuilt gearbox, new head gasket, brand new rainbow trim driver's seat, refurbished 15" BBS alloys, working electic windows and sunroof. It's pretty much standard, and will remain so, with the exception of: Scorpion s/s exhaust, drilled and grooved front disks, braided hoses and powerflex bushes all round. Ok, so it's a 5 door, but it was too good to pass up.

I'm Neil, and I live on Colchester.

Thanks for comments guys. No, although Daz's car looks the business, after years of modding I like the idea of a car that looks exactly as it did when it rolled off the line all those years ago. At 34 I must finally have become an old fart
