I take it back
« on: 08 December 2005, 00:08 »
I put this carb from a early citi mk1 on my driver, i was told it would be better than the pierburg when it was set up, unfortunatly it never seemed to settle in and couldnt give me the power i should have, so i went off to the vw breakers nearby to try and get another pierburg, no luck but as i was leaving they towed in a driver, and low and behold when we looked under the bonnet it had a weber converison  thay said i could have it there and then for 60 quid if i took it off my self so out came my toolbox,

what a fcuking difference,im sure i shouldnt be able to pull 60 in seocond? i think i better take care of it before i blow it up
what a carb tho  getting it set up properly in the morning too, its abit irratic at the mo,i cant believe its the same engine!!

what engine do you have? as mine is 1600 and i was wandering how much of a good idea it is hitting 60 in 2nd gear, cause it does it and my rev counter read just over 5000 rpm when i do it, seems odd  :undecided:

really? see i never had a rev counter when i had a pierburg so i just changed gear according to those little red lines on the speedometer maybe i could do it before, but with a weber you get to that stage alot quicker , just got it all set up properly today, all my hoses were in the wrong places and it seems i have a leaky carb gasket, no worries tho,, i have about 4 spare, one of them MUST be good, just got to go thru the hassle of taking the weber off again, which sucks cause the nuts are hard to get hold of
