also depends on the mileage on your car. anything with around 100-125k on it (depending on how hard a life its had) u'll be starting to lose compression as the rings need replaced

in honesty i reckon u'd be lucky to see 5-7bhp increase. an original vag 16v system is just as well flowed as any stainless system

and unless the manifold was portmatched to ur head it'll do naff all except make a lot more noise!

also, at the rolling road id make sure u have another 16v or similar along that u can match the rollin road results

thats why actual group rolling road days are good. cause u get a wide spread of cars there and that way u can see just how accurate the rolling road is!

The general rule for filter + exhaust is 10% increase. Not that much so don't spend big money.
Sport filters are the easiest mod, what everyone forgets to mention is they increase performance more mid range than top, so you don't get big overall increases, but you will get a nice more responsive engine.
Manufacturers don't often use performance filters because of the noise levels, its as simple as that.

otherway round if anything, the manifold will do more than the exhaust i would have thought, especially with a bit of heatwrap. plus bonus of tubular manifold you save loads of weight from the front of the car.

it is alot of cash but if you're planning bigger power upgrades in the future then the manifold/exhaust won't need up grading in the future. make sure you get heavy duty engine mounts especially the front one, if not a solid one, as stainless manifolds are more brittle than mild steel and if your engine is moving around alot it'll crack at the welds.

solid one from me will cost you £75 inc postage, a vibratechnics heavy duty mount will cost about £115?
the solid ones do increase the vibration in the car on tickover but nothing thats gonna bother you.

People get blinded views from fitting performance airfilter & Exhaust from the likes of Maxpower and Fastcar magazines!
The truth is, yeah you will get a power increase of about 5bhp depending on engine condition.
Before you get an Exhaust and airfilter it may be helpful to read a book or go on a website to learn about back pressure of a car.
You may of noticed that Rally Cars dont have Big Bore tailpipes cause they need to hold back gases to make sure they burn exactly on time in the combustion chamber.
Otherwise whats the point in letting unburn fuel out back of exhaust?
