Puddle in rear, drivers side
« on: 07 December 2005, 16:06 »
Hi, I have a similar problem to the guy who had a leak in the front of his car.  I have a puddle in my drivers side rear footwell.  I noticed it about a week ago and it still has not dried up.  I can't see where it is comming in from, any ideas would be welcomed. 1.8t Mk4 gti 02.  Regards MC

Thanks guys,  I have had a search on this site and I now think it must be linked to the rear washer.  I shall have a crack at finding the tube for the washer, any tips?  It is a five door if that makes any difference on a 02 plate.  Thanks in advance.  MC

Thanks for that, before seeing your reply I pulled out all of the bottom and side trim and did not find the tube but all seemed dry.  I have had a look underneath the car and that all seems fine also  I have tested the rear washer to try and make the fault happen again.  It has not made anymore puddles, however the water that was there did smell like a detergent/screenwash.  Could it be linked to driving  through carwashes?
