my mk2 was dropped 40mm. 15" alloys on 45mm profile tyres went on ok without scrubbing.

while youve got it apart, i would change the top mounts - these are prolly less than a tenner from Euro Car Parts

Well mine's dropped 60mm on spax psx adjustables and i love them. For me thought front was wee bit too high so used bonrath lowering caps (jom ones are sh!t) Thats brings it to -70mm on front. spot on drive, Cant fault it. have used many other kits before this is the best so far. Depends on what you want, If you want non adj then sprintline bilsteins (yellow ones) poss best you can get. never used coilovers so cant recommend, But my mate uses bilstein coils pss9 on has mk3 says they are the dogs, But very exspensive. By the way using 7jx15 BBS et24 with 195/50 no scrubbing.

Maybe worth new wishbones and adding poly bushes I also bought bump stops and ball joints as they need doing, and definitely front top mounts as already mentioned, I'm going to be removing my rear shocks again and fitting new rear top mounts as I have an annoying rattle only small but I'm so fussy  and I will be changing the rear axle bushes as they need doing and its got to be one or another  so maybe worth considering all bushes depending on mileage?

I've only gone -40 Konis on standard 15" Ra's and really needs another -10 IMO will be putting my 16's on in the new year after the bloody gritter has retired for another year and hopefully will bring the wheel closer to the arch!!

well having recently lowered mine by 40mm by meself on me drive the small bit of advice i can give is get ready to get new bump stops as both mine on either rear side were totally knackered and split in two, and also get ready to be screaming at it!

I have fk dampers and springs all round, bought from a guy on ebay for bargain price of £150 brand new and hes from errr austria or belgium and they're brand new. At first i was a bit disappointed but having now been to demon tweaks and got the camber, castor and tracking all checked and adjusted and now the suspension is actually softening up Im really pleased with it. Handles a lot better you dont have that major tilt on corners and just feels more sollid.

The fact your car is 30mm lower already shouldnt play a factor cause you're replacing everything but in terms of looks wise, if you go for 40mm its only gonna be cms difference looks wise but obv newer kit. If that makes sense.

if you're doing it yourself you'll need those magic spring compressor efforts or boing!!!!
