nah dont wanna do any engine work yet as its running sweet as a nut, plus i want more than a 2l when i do it
how low can i go before arch work is needed??

just drop it as much as u dare and deal with the arches later! probably get 40-60 mm without rubbing dependin on wheels and tyres but youl only find u wish ud have gone lower and it'l cost more in the long run.

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle.. :cool:

i dropped my driver 80 mm with out any problems but my wheels/tyres were only 185 55 14's:

my old driver which homer now has, had a 40mm drop on it but rubbed like a bi@ch with 195-50-15s on it, so when i got the last gti i put them on there and same problem.do u think the offset of the after market alloys was wrong??
they did come from chavfords

definately an offset thing. my 8" bbs rub less than my 7" azev's due to the azevs being et15 and thats with a 110mm drop so you must have a tiny offset to rub on 40mm or drive around with a fat bastard in the boot!
