Please don't wire your fogs to the high beams, not only is it almost definitely illegal but is completly pointless when you can easily run the wire a bit further to the stock fog loom plug hanging under the fusebox ;)

Wouldnt have thought it was illegal, as they are only driving lights.... Wouldnt be pointless as i dont have the sopt lights in my grille, so may inmprove light a bit!

Easy, connect the live from the bulb on the fog, to the live on the main headlight, and disconnect the existing loom for the fogs... :S Make sense? :S

Won't improve your light a lot! My front fogs are soooo dull, maybe its my bulbs or something?

I think driving lights are allowed provided there is a switch to turn them off. My mate has a landrover with massive racks of spots on it, the MOT men weren't happy with so he fitted a switch so he can choose whether to have them on with full beam or not.

But whats the point in doing all that when you can just run 2 wires to the plug under the header tank, and not only have it perfectly legal but also as VW intended :)

I really cant see the problem with having the fogs as driving lights, instead of the spots?! :S  If i wired the fogs into the fog light loom, they'd never get used, its never foggy!!

You do realise the fog light switch has 2 clicks, 1st turns on the fronts only, and the second turns on the back one as well? ;)

Yeah, but i only want the lights to come on with high beam though, theres no point driving around with fog lights on unless its foggy...;)
