BIG BUMPER FOG LIGHT FITTING?
« on: 01 December 2005, 14:01 »
Hi everyone, just a little bit of help, a fairly easy question probably?!

Just about to buy a pair of fog lights and brackets, but i dont know how to fit them!! I'm going to wire them into the high beam lights, so electrically theres not a problem.

If anyone could post some pictures as well, i'd much appreciate it!

Thanks

Out of interest why do you think its a small bumper golf!?!

Is it because of the old pics in my sig?!

(Look at the subject ;) )

ha ha oh yeah!! well i started to answer as though it was a big bumper then yeah i looked at your sig and changed my answer?!?!

anyway, there are some square holes in the bumper iron that you pop a bolt into from behind which holds in place while you tighten the nut up. it helps to put the nut/bolt in and tighten them a bit then the brackets slide in and then tighten down. easy but is easier to do with the bumper off the car... in fact it might only be possible with the bumper off. the nuts/bolts should come with the lights.

He's told me that the lights only come with lights, and bracket. I have a load of nuts and bolts laying around at home, i'm sure i can find something to fit it!! No loom either...:S

What you just said doesn't actually make a lot of sense to me, is it obvious when i get the bumper off?! I really don't want to take the bumper off though, its a bit of a b!tch :(

I completely understand the small bumper thing now... ;) Thought it would be something like that...... new sig is on the way soon... ;)

yeah it is obvious where they go. with the bumper off the fogs can only go in one place and the holes should be lined up with the holes on the bracket. to take the fron bumper off its only 4 bolts and you'll have to get on your back to put the fogs in anyway if you decided to leave it on.

Had to put both fogs back on mine during the summer! She'd had a bit of surgery on the front end after my brawd wrapped her around a Ford Escort
Anyway, as opposed to taking off the bumper, remove the indicator lenses and the attached power cable and you'l be able to see the top of the plate where the fog bracket attaches to - there is a square hole there for the fixing bolt. It's still a bit fiddly but it can be done - although that was in july not decembrrrr!

I fitted one without removing the bumper, easy if you can get the car up high enough.
otherwise, bumper off.
