steering wheel swap

does any one know if a mk3 steering wheel (1992 k reg)will fit my recently purchased mk2 (1992 j reg) also are the parcel shelves inter changable any advice would be great thanks

thanks for the reply i bought the car with some horrible after market wheel in its so small that i can't see how fast im going plus my mk3 died and i thought it would do until i can get a mk2 wheel

I had one of them a momo something like a tea plate! stick it on Ebay with boss got £105  for mine!!

other than that the mk3 should fit however the main difference is the spline diameter between VW's,the steering column difference  is one is thick and one is thin the thick one is a thin one with a collar on.
Best way to find out is take the old one off and try the new one! good luck oh and watch your head when it pings off it goes quickly!

mk3 parcel shelf does fit btw. i picked up an od mk2 with one and it looked pukka

leave the nut loosely screwed on the end of the column that way you wont end up with a steering wheel embedded in your face!
