New MK 3
« on: 29 November 2005, 12:28 »
Just bought a Mak 3 gti 16v- love it!

Anyway, have a couple of problems that I could do with advice.

Firstly, the immobilizer doesnt seem to always work. Is this common and can it be easily fixed?

Secondly, when I switch the radio off, it is still backlit. Is this normal, or will it drain my battery?

Thanks a lot

Jamie

Yes it has a removable facia. Was told it was the original radio- Sony from a 97 R.

In that case, I'd just remove it when you're not in the car - battery won't drain then!

Any one had any problems with the immobiliser?

Also does anyone have a picture of the standard exhaust pipes as I dont think mine is standard. Both pipes are rectangular as opposed to round?

rectangular certainly isnt stock.. stock are dual round..

Do you know which immoboliser it is? is it standard? had a problem with my logic alarm/immobiliser and went to VW who couldnt help as logic went out of business and recommended just replacing the whole thing, which would have been cheaper anyway.

Any idea how much the reflectors which sit next to the front fogs cost? My passenger side reflector isnt standard and looks a bit sh1t.

Cheers
