Hi all

I've not been on here in ages been very busy, but i have run into a serious problem on the mk 3 golf vr6 and possible all mk 3 golfs and may be mk 4's..

My oil temp started to read false, so after a few days of trying to sort it out some reason i unscrewed the multi pin connector on the side of my engine and there was water inside it, first i'd thought it was my fault that the lastime i pulled it off i didnt put the seal back on correctly.

But i've now found that it has rectangle factory holes in the side which water can get in through!

so now i know its no fault of mine, it doesnt make me feel any better seen as its my brothers car,

its not really affected the terminal part thats the part which runs off top the ecu etc....

but the engine side , its corroded some of the pins its took a chunk out of 1 and its possibley completely rusted one as it looks like one was their....

heres a pic

the 2 red dots thats where i think their is ment to be a pin, and i think a brown wire with a blue stripe is connected to it... but i'm not sure.. the car is 94 2.8 12v vr6..

heres the pic of the engine side and the ecu side.., i'm not sure if the water has shorted something and damaged the ecu..
could it damage the ecu? or any other electrics...

heres the ecu side which looks ok after a clean with a paint brush and car soap... i gave it a good rinse to get the corrosion off and got the hair dryer on it...

Can you get a new loom from ebay or the scrappy?
If not can you repair or replace the wiring connectors?
First option might be best but could be expensive.
