I bought myself a mk2 GTI 8valve for £200 off some guy in Chelmsford, and although it has its problems, which I'll come to in a bit, it is AMAZING!
It's a Black E reg 3 door and it doesn't seem to want to stick to 30mph at all, going from a 106 1.4 Diesel that needed to be floored to get to 30!
I embarrased a mate who just spent £11000 on a brand new C2 VTR as well...
The bad bits:
Has rust bubbles on the boot
The window rubbers on the passenger door are perishing
Sometimes have trouble getting 2nd (thats me, not the car, i think)
ISO connector has been cut out, so i have to do loads of soldering to get my headunit in
Speaker grills in doors not in car anymore.
On teardrop alloys at the front and BBS alloys at the back.
The handbrake is buggered
So i need to find out a couple of things,
1) Where is the best place to go through to get a connection straight to the battery (for my Alpine CDA-9812RB and Amp)?
2) What is the easiest speaker size to fit in the doors, and the easiest size to fit in the Dashboard space?
3) How do I reset the clock on the lcd display near the rev meter, and what temperature is shown by *oC?
