Mk3 smoked indicator thieves!

hi folks,

   Some little f**k-wit cock-sucker decided to relieve me of my (front) factory smoked indicators and blanking plates from my mk3 anniversary last night. They also damaged some side trim and nicked the aerial!?

   I've got a pretty good idea who it was since there are 3 other black mk3s in my village (none of them anniversarys)

   But what i really need to know is whether any other mk3 was fitted with the factory smoked indicators.

   The other golfs in the village are gtis and vr6s and if neither were fitted with them, and suddenly one turns up with smoked lenses... i'll have a pretty good idea upon whos car to pour the gasoline before lighting it!

   I've already ordered some replacement from vw (over £100!!!!) and i know that there are other smoked lense kits about, but i dont think there are many cars about with factory vw ones.

   Also, if anybody on the forum hears about anybody selling vw smoked lenses in the Guildford/Surrey area I would be very interested in hearing from them. mommus@gmail.com

We wouldn't normally want reposts but on this occassion I'd also put one in the mk3 section if I was you to answer your question about which mk3s had those indicators on them.

my black mk3 16v was fitted with smoked side repeaters and rears but i dont think the front indicators/blanking plate/fogs were on anythng other than the anniv.. i added them to my car..

i'll tell u whats weird... the indicators/blanking plate u can get for about 30 quid... the smoked fogs are 130 quid...

   I'll keep an eagle eye on ebay too. I've seen a non-VW smoked set for £35 on ebay... the new indicators i bought today from VW were over £100!!!!!

   I just dont know why they didnt take the fog lights. Maybe they were disturbed by one of my neighbours. I'm going to park the car either in the garage or parked right up against it tonight (and wait in the shadows with a piece of 2 x 4)

I think I've found out who it was!!
 

There's a fat guy round the corner from me who has a lowered, gazzzed-up vr6. I kinda thought it was him from the beginning.

   Anyway, I took a drive past his house on Friday night and noticed a for sale sign inside it. Looking at the front I noticed he had exactly the same indicators missing as me, only his had no wires or bulbs. He still had white fog lights in so when/if my smoked lenses appear then i know who's to blame. If i think about it he's been missing his indicators/blank plates for ages now so it's unlikely he was simply the victim of the same crime as me.

   Now i need to plan my sweet revenge!
