help help!!

 :huh: anyone know whats involved in changing thermostat on mk3 2.0 8v do i have to remove alternator n all that to change it or is thermostatat end ov bottom hose where it goes into plastic flange the end wiv the metal cir clip on????

1.Disconnect battery neg
2.Drain Cooling system
3.Remove power steering pump drivebelt
4.Remove bolts securing power steering pump to engine and move out of the way
5.Pull out the spring wire retaining clip and disconnect the coolant hose from the thermostat cover.
6.Slacken and remove the 2 retaining bolts and remove the thermostat cover from the coolant pump housing.
7.Recover the sealing ring and take out the thermostat replace sealing ring with a new one
when putting it all back together again.

8 and most importantly..

BUY A HAYNES MANUAL.. :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Agreed, Haynes manual, £15 and it helps sh!te loads... espeically if your crap at being a mechanic :D

Not that am a crap mechanic  :shocked:  :grin:,jus seriously thinking of selling me car wen ave stopped it cutting out cant sell it like it is at moment.been cutting out for months and still doing it n cant get to bottom of it cud be for sale on here very soon

I do most work on sir shedalot myself tho can't afford to pay stupid garage prices far too savvy for that game. :tongue:
