I am running 195/50/15 Eagle F1's (Superb) on 40mm drop Eibach springs. No rubbing.
You will be fine.

From what I recall quite a few people changed from 185/55 15s to 195/50 15s on the mk2s because the they could get the 195 50 15s a lot cheaper than the 185/55s but I don't know if the 185/55s have come down in price.  :undecided:
One thing though , I don't know whether it may affect your insurance as they wouldn't be the recommended tyre size that VW originally fitted .  :nerd::undecided:
But they do look better  (though even at the correct pressures to me they seem a little under inflated )

Yokohama AVS for better all round performance if wishing to purchase Yokohama, the A539 a little harder wearing and therefore not as grippy, they do struggle a little in the wet but if you are running an Eibach rollbar on the back and front the car characteristics are again totally different.

A quick word of warning!

myTyres are taking 5-7 days to ship the Goodyear F1's from Germany to me.

This is fine as they are so cheap but not good as the car is now stuck in a garage for a week!

Those F1's sound the business.

Where did you get them from in Germany, were the much cheaper?

I believe reserves meant that mytyres.co.uk get their stock of F1s in from Germany and it's taking 7 days.

I've got 195/45/15 at the moment on my new Ronals, I may jump up to 50s as they are so much cheaper
