Hella quad/twin headlamps
« on: 21 November 2005, 17:30 »
Anybody on here have these fitted to their Golfs?  I'm looking to get some myself, but they seem really hard to find, i'd like to know how much i should be paying, i've found one site so far: http://www.vwspeed.co.uk/index.php?cPath=8&osCsid=c083ac02e2c567b763fdb2c20c491e35
Can someone point me in more directions of where to find these??

If you want these new your going to be paying anything upwards of about £180+ if your lucky you can find these on ebay without too much trouble as they seem to appear regularly.

£180 brand new??  From where?  I want some!!  Cheapest so far is eurocarparts.co.uk which is going for £228.24

There seems to be different sets of these Hella duals, cos i've seen black ones with clear lenses instead of being completely smoked.

They are out there on Ebay - Billy got mine for me already painted body colour!
So they were second hand, but only a month or so.
Mine cost me £100

They look great!

you considered gettin angel eyes like mine (see below)

got them from e38 new for £159. bargain i thought. Look so mean in the dark and a little more up to date than the quad lamps in my opinion.

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

Yes i considered getting the FK Angel Eyes if i couldn't get hold of the duals, but i've had my mind on the Hella's for a long long time now.  I agree with the AE's having a more upto date look, i like them better in the dark obviously, but the Golf has a much meaner stance with the Hella's on   I've just lost out on a pair on eBay, which was my fault for not watching the auction properly

Could go with the idea of FK angel eyes would have to be black ones tho.

Count-Von, i don't think those look as good as the Hella's, done loads of research and the general opinion is, if they're not Hella, then stay away from them.  I've decided that i'm going to buy them brand new, i've just had some bad experiences with 2nd hand stuff, i can always sell off the lights anyway when the time comes.  The lights are going to have to wait though, i'm looking to get new alloys first, will post pictures once the car is finished up.
