I need to lower my new mk4. Can't afford a set of coilovers just yet so was thinking of just changing the springs as a temporary measure but I've heard it can do a lot of damage to your stock shocks.Anybody done this and had any probs?

A mate of mine changed the springs only on his Mk4 TDi, & he had to change his track control arms TWICE, in only a month!
Car will also feel a bit bouncy with lowered springs/standard shocks. Best to do both or neither, IMO.

well ive just got -35 springs on mine, and ive not had any problems *touch wood* i dont find the car too bouncy with my standard shocks, i quite like the little bounce it does over bumps at high speeds..
