3D Golf Gti rendering anyone?
« on: 17 November 2005, 13:10 »
Would anyone be interested in a photo-realistic rendering of a Mk2 Golf Gti?

For my dayjob I use Solidworks, an awesome 3D design program and am thinking of knocking up a Golf in it and then possibly offering prints for sale (mainly to cover my time spent measuring dented panels and rusty components.) Helps my portfolio and looks ace on yer wall too!

The reason is i am a bit fed up with all these cheesy over-wheeled-excessive-cambered generic kule-kar-art type pictures you can buy from YeBay, car boot sales etc and quite like the idea of a decent coloured technical drawing picture instead.. Basically like those gorgeous cutaway illustrations of old racing Maseratis and Jaguars but of our favorite shopping trolley instead.
What i mean is an A3-A2 sized top quality 3D rendering of the car with wheels, brakes and interior which i would personalise for each buyer e.g standard BBS'd 3dr in Oak Green etc for anyone owning/dreaming of a standard Git or maybe your one-off lowered Ronal-turboed, debadged & smoked night fighter.
Obviously 8v/16v is all in the badge but who knows, engines could be next...

If i sound like a sad git with too much time on my hands, I actually do this for a living, the weather is sh!t and my Gti is outside!

If anyone is interested, let me know- the image would be your car with your colour/doors/wheels/number plate etc and a nice GolfGti.co.uk logo too
Not sure about price, though i certainly aint gonna rip any like-minded dub enthusiasts off!!
If only my Volkswagen was as reliable as everyone else's...
