Golf + Magazine - Waste Of Money?
« on: 15 November 2005, 19:14 »
I was looking forward to getting the new Golf+ magazine, even though last month's was a bit thin. Got to WHSmiths today only to find that this month's issue is even thinner!! I decided that it simply wasn't worth spending nearly four quid and didn't bother.

Got the new PVW last week, and as usual, I thought it was worth the cover price (and it was twice as thick as Golf+).

I used to prefer the content of Golf+ compared to PVW, but definitely won't be buying it again unless it gets thicker (or cheaper).

*Rant over* LOL

Quality mag and really good advise although when you buy it you feel you should be driving away in a Truimph Spitfire
The G/F used to have Minis and I got a subscription for her think it was Mini Mag and it was really good, I read it cover to cover ...

Same here. I was buying The Golf+ & PVW on a regular basis up until a couple of months ago.

IMO PVW has more adverts than feature cars and seems to be getting a bit chavvy lately . I always prefered The Golf+, has more in depth technical advice & How To section. The cars they featured also tended to be a bit more subtle  and they tended to feature more European cars. But generally it's starting to get a bit repetitive, more retro style Mk1's and Porsche rims everywhere  :undecided:.

These looked a refreshing change in styling the Lax Flower brigade styles, when they started appearing a few years ago, but now they,ve been copied to death . And The Golf+ is getting thinner........................................................

I too now buy Practical Classics on a regular basis now. If for no other reason but to have a nostalgic glimpse at some of the old seventies & eighties motors I used to see on the road when I was a kid   .ÂÂÂ
