MORE TROUBLE WITH THE 8VALVE GTI

JUST CHANGED ME GEARBOX ON AN 8VALVE GTI, TROUBLE IS THE DRIVESHAFT NOW SEEMS  TO BE OUT OF BALANCE...ONE OF THE BEARINGS FELL OUT WE PUT IT BACK..IT LOOKED FINE BUT OF COURSE IT AINT...HAS ANYONE GOT A DRIVE SHAFT SAVE PISSING AROUND, ITS THE OFF SIDE LONGER ONE OF THE TWO.

AND WHILE IM HERE ANYONE KNOW THE PRICE OF FRONT TOP SUSPENSION MOUNTS THE BUGGERS ARE CLICKING AND CLONKING..  :o

I had that clicking noise from my top mounts. Open the bonnet and shake the car. If the top mounts click then i would put a washer between the suspension and the top mount. Cured it for me and I actually thought ill never cure that noise!

I got some top mounts both for under ?40 from a Lucas store.
I would try the washer trick before you change your mounts?

COOL NICE ONE ILL GIVE THAT A GO...DIDENT FAIL THE MOT I HAD YESTERDAY ON THEM, EVEN THOW THE RIGHT ONE HAD CONSIDERABLEY MORE PLAY...HE SAID IF IT AINT DANGEROUS AND GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT THEN THERE OK...
BUT I THINK THE VIBRATING DRIVE SHAFT IS NEXT ON THE AGGENDER, I CANT HACK THAT.
