Good or Bad idea ?

I have thought about blowing the arches on the  Vento , this is a pic I've fiddled with in 'Paint' to give you an idea of what I mean . Good or bad idea?

I dont think the 4 door shape would suita a bodykit ,

True , a two door would lend it's self better but I'd like to keep it as practical as poss .
The thing is I've always liked the mk2 RS2000 X-PACs (nearly bought one instead of my first MK1 GTI but I don't regret that decision in anyway) but this wouldn't be as boxy as one of those .
If I were to attempt it I'd get a doggy old vento to practice on , but I'll probably never get around to doing it in the near future in anycase as a 1.8t conversion is far higher on my list of mods and that's quite away off
