My missus has got that Avital alarm on her *cough* saxo *cough*

It's a cracking little thing but isn't thatcham approved...guess it's down to whether you want the gadgets or an alarm from a company with a proven track record

So any prob's and does the pager work well?? Ive decided just want a change and have seen Avital advertised for £350 fitted and it looked cool and engine start as standard!!! Not to fussed on Cat, just would like tilt sensor and warn away siren

Havent had any probs with it, she said the pager works cos when she was in work it was going off in her pocket and when she went outside the alarm was goin off...the engine start is pretty cool, can start it and stop it again with the remote and it dont unlock til u press it again
Just keep an eye on whoever fits it cos the fat b@stid that done hers f*ck*d a bolt up on her dash so it rattles all the time now
08.03.10 - 3, maybe 4 weeks, and I want my golf back on the road!

I've got an avital fitted on my motor, I think I'm right in thinking they are a rebadged clifford anyway. Can't remember what model mine is, not too flashy but remote locking etc and it's thatcham approved. Been on a year and haven't had any problems with it.

You got any pics of your dad's split ?

I've been thinking about fitting my own from here but not too sure yet, would be nice to have remote start now that it's coming to winter and I have a leather interior!!!

if you arent to bothered about getting it fitted by an aprooved fitter then you can get just the alarm yourself and fit it. I rang my insurers to see how much discount id get and they said none so i intend to buy one and try to fit it myself as it will save a lot of money.

Well I've just ordered the GSM alarm from TG In-car so if you give it a couple of weeks to allow for delivery and me working out how to fit it I'll let you all know how it compares.

Cheers

i'd go for the toad Ai606 every time.reliable and thatcham approved - until someone takes your keys from your house and then takes your car....  (experienced that this weekend)

Overall though Toad Ai606 is a good make.
