Temp gauge sender & coolent sender - MK1
« on: 12 November 2005, 10:36 »
Can some tell me where the Temp gauge sender & coolent sender are on a MK1 1.3.

As the temp gauge does not work (but the engine does not over heat and the fan kicks in)

And the coolent warning light flashes intermittently, but the level is correct and is not loosing anywater!

Thanks

On  my 1.5 the temp sender is on the right hand side of the block on a set of pipes. should only see one wire with a spade head.

Coolent sender?? dont think you have one. take it you just fill your rad up?

Cheers

Thep guage  :undecided:  do you mean oil temp? - thats on your oil filter holdy bit, you know the bit the filter scres onto (i'm brilliant with technical terms )

That one tucker mentioned is for the coolant temp

I mean the sender for the temp gauge, which i think is on the right hand side of the block, as it's the only screw in sender i can see, so it must be that, looks like i need a new one, if they are available LoL  when it is at full temp the gauge only goes to the fat line at the begining of the gauge!

The other one was the red light on the temp gauge, it was flashing for no reason, intermittantlly, but i think i found it - right on the front above the oil filter, the wireing was dodgy so put a new connection in and it has stopped!

You'll get 10% off if you use Euro Car Parts in Leeds and mention this site, you need to speak to Stuart. See the Deals & Discounts section for more details.
