ECU Fault Code Readers!

It should work on a 94 car if it has the OBD1 port. Check to the left of  the ashtray behind a sliding cover. OBD2 ports should be 95 onwards.

This port will have 2 or 3 (I cant remember) 3-pinned plugs. If the car has an OBD2 port it will not work. For a picture of an OBD2 port check one of the earlier posts.

Ok chaps, we bought the ecu fault code reader from halfords. Does anybody know where the diagnostic port is on a 1994 VR6. It doesn't seem to be behind the ash-tray (unless the whole facia need to come off?) and isn't in the passenger footwell.
Any ideas?

Hi,

It's not behind the ashtray, it's to the left of the ashtray behind a rectangular blanking plate which slides off horizontally from left to right (towards the ashtray). You have to pull the ashtray out in order to slide off the blanking plate.
