Full cream leather or 16v conversion?

As a lot of you probably know I've had a 16v engine sat in the garage for about 6 months now  :rolleyes: 

I was going to get the conversion done over the winter. However, I've been having second thoughts and been thinking of selling the engone and box and using the money towards a full cream leather interior.

So should I go for shamone looks or more power? I've had the Weber conversion on my engine and a 1600 box from a mk1, so my cab isn't that slow. Before I had the box done my times on the strip were 0-60 9.95 1/4 mile in around 17 seconds (just a little bit slower than Gibby's GTI).

I've been told a guy in Swansea does full leather for around £600 on a MK1 cab.

How about both Chris ? 

It might take longer to do both but I think if I had a choice I'd go for the leather first as your cabby is quick enough already and the leather would set it off a treat. Just to cement your choice, one of the users on here, sorry forgot the name  :embarassed: , but he did a best of 17.2 1/4 mile in his mk2 8v the other weekend, so he's around the same time as us really, so although not lightning our cabby's are nippy. 

I thought the 16V conversion was going to be a nightmare moving from carbs to injection ?

have to weigh it up mate, are you really going to need the conversion in the near future seeing as you commute to work or would you rather have something nice and comfy to sit in, and still have enough poke to put a grin on your face.

leather! if your cab's doin times like that theres already a bit of poke in it and lets be honnest, if ur priority was speed you wouldnt have bought a cab in the first place! Get it done my friend! Will make all the difference!
