charging problem

hi

i have a 1.8 mk3 (gl not gti -soz), if you leave it for more than a day the battery is dead. Then when you do connect (actually every time) the battery sparks and cracks when you put second terminal on.
anyone got any ideas, i have disconnect all interior lights (thinking they might be on all the time).

please help!

Have you got a multimeter? If yes, put it in the circuit (but dont try and start the car, you'll fry it) and see how much current is being drawn. If it's in the milliamps range, it's probably the clock etc. and you'll probably need a new battery. Any more than that you have a problem...  :smiley:
