Coilvers - What else to replace when fitting?
« on: 02 November 2005, 18:28 »
Hi guys.

Im buying some coilovers in a few weeks, FK ones, hopefully these are a good make?
Seems a lot of people have them is this true?

Anyway, what else should i change when doing this? The cars on standard suspension
so id like to replace things if they need replacing? Top and bottom mounts?

And finally, ive never fitted these before, but ive just started working in a garage so
have access to tools and lifts. How do i fit these? Will they take long and do they have 'set'
drops ie 40mm 60mm 80mm etc etc.

Any advice would be excellent

Many thanks!

if you access to a garage and lifts then its a piece of piss. its just the same as fitting a set of springs n shocks except you dont need the spring clamps!! renew the top mounts though

as for height setting. they dont have set heights, but as you have a lift you can set the car v.easily. as you can get access to the adjuster nuts from below & behind each wheel.

for setting, just use a lift that you drive onto. rather than one that lifts via the jacking points - tht way you can see the height each corner of the car is sitting at
