Price for clutch replacement?

What car? a mk1/2 gti clutch is about £40-£50, so i suppose it depends how much you mind paying someone to do the work, its a 2 hour job max!!!

lastime i paid someone to do it (a few years ago now) i paid £120 all in, i think it was from Mr Clutch

i only paid just over a ton for the clutch its self,see stu@eurocarparts and for to have it fitted

gsf do the sachs kit for about 55 + vat, includes clutch and pressure plate

Hmmmm, I've never done one in less than 2 hours. I've done quite a few now and it usually takes 3 to 4 hours but then maybe thats me being slow Maybe with a decent ramp/lift I could cut the time down a little but I usually find the worst bit being those poxy drive shaft bolts...........PITA

Hmmmm, I've never done one in less than 2 hours. I've done quite a few now and it usually takes 3 to 4 hours but then maybe thats me being slow Maybe with a decent ramp/lift I could cut the time down a little but I usually find the worst bit being those poxy drive shaft bolts...........PITA

THem bolts are fiddly but one of them is really easy if you attack it from under the car yes  just turn the shaft and undo all the bolts at that nice easy place 

I don't have any fancy ramps/lifts either, just a trolly jack and a couple of axle stands, a mate comes in really handy when removing/replacing the gearbox though

I usually do it on my own so have to mess about using the trolley jack to support the engine and the hoist to support the gearbox. 2 people can easily support the gearbox and control dropping it without any damage to the surrounding bodywork etc., so I see where you are coming from there

I'd say £200 with parts is reasonable, but I reckon you could probably get cheaper and certainly wouldn't pay any more than that.

Should be much the same tbh. Labour is the same, maybe a little more for the clutch
