Building the ultimate 8v engine

I have started to plan my ultimate 8v engine and I am looking of any more tip that any one could help with this plan, this is what I have planed at the min.

Audi 80 (bubble block) bored to a 2.1
83mm pistons
Rod bearing set
Crank bearing set
Ported cylinder head with big valve conversion
Road rally piper cam
Platinum plugs
Audi 100 Intake Manifold
Oil cooler
8v ecu up-grade
Power boost value
Lightened flywheel
Solid front engine mount

These are a list of thing that I would also like to do but would like some advice wither to do them or not needing to.

Forged light weight alloy pistons
Upgrading to heavy duty valve springs
Lightweight titanium retainers
Strengthened rods
Stage 2 fuel pump
Upgrading injectors
Lsd differential

So if any one has a similar engine or could give me some advice this would be great

Thanks Aaron

nice specs- definitely add a new oil pump (or uprated..) to your list!

i agree- a 2.0 8V Audi VW bubble block is the best (cheapest and easiest) starting point for a big rebore/high spec rebuild and makes a big power+torque difference without spending much cash!

coincidentally someone left a lovely 2.0 8V 2E bottom end in my garage which i no longer need...

If only my Volkswagen was as reliable as everyone else's...

What about head work and the cam ?!?!

Instead of using the fuel injection sysytem have you considered a set of DCOE 45 Webers and an aftermarket 3d ignition system ?!

can get alot of power from carbs, but if its gonna be ultimate get it on throttle boddies you'll need propper management get it revving up to about 7200rpm it will do it.  you'll need to get some APR rod bolts (well studs and nuts actually) steel rods and forged pistons. before thinking of ne think else, my mate had a 2lt 8v doin 200bhp using a bored out block and audi 2.1 pistons, however he melted a piston after the crank pulley slipped. i have considered all this but a turbo is much more efficient, reliable and tonns more low down torque. but it would be nice to see what i could do with a NA 8v.

Best to get x-flow head and fit throttle bodies with 276 or 288 schrick cam. But all that money best to stick in 20vt with bigger inj, ihi turbo, emerald ecu looking 300+bhp easy.
