Large bore exhaust system

Looking for a large bore exhaust for my MK1 gti. A lot of exhaust manufacturers list for this car with a 3" pipe, but that is only the tail pipe, I want a big bore system. Any ideas from the "golf gti crew" .

I've got a mongoose back box and centre pipe on mine - not sure what the bore, I think its 3.5 ". whatever it is HUGE right the way through

Thanks, what style of tail pipe is it?. Do you still have the centre box?. Did you sleeve the front pipe up to the system. My front pipe is 58" o/d. May go mongoose hunting .

the centre box (do you mean cat?) is mongoose, but the tail pipe has been replaced with a carbon fibre wrapped powerflow end pipe, single 4" opening

Some manufacturers list a system with a centre box or a straight pipe (no resonator). I need a centre pipe and a back box.

I think they may be refering to the cat - mine is one of the later mk1 cabs that had a cat as standard

i've a mongoose system on my 16v and i also admit its pretty f**kin huge, mine was ?280, its from the downpipe back and consisted of front & mid silencer & rear box

tailpipe style was this :-



chuffed to bits with it, suits the backend of the car perfectly and the noise is sublime
