**bonnet closing Problems**

hi ppl i have a 88 mk2golf gti and im haveing problems tring to get the bonnet to close,i have to sort of bounce on it about 5times for it to close,i dont think somethings locking in right, anyone have any ideas how to fix this?? cheers

there is a pin that runs down the centre of the spring on the latch mechanism. Try adjusting this in a little.

first check that the bonnet pull goes back to its original position

Adjust the spring on the bonnet catch. you need a small spanner and a large flat head screw driver.

If you loosen the spring i think the bonnet closes easily

Also make sure the release handle inside the car is back at the origional position.
