Rad Fan
« on: 25 October 2005, 22:15 »
Just noticed that my rad fan is making a terrible noise, kind of clatterring and grinding.

Is it likely fixable?  If not what other cars have the same fan as my GTI 8v, I understand other vws and Audis all use the same fan.

I'm looking for the cheapest option.

Mine's doing the same...it's the bearings inside..

Check what connector your fan has got on the back because mine is a 2 pin job and it's turning out to be a nightmare trying to find a replacement   If yours is a 3 pin one then your laughing!!   :laugh:

Daz, why not upgrade to a 2 speed fan loom (3 pin plug) loads of Dubs in the scrappy come with it, all you do is fit a 2 speed radiator temp sensor then unplug the connector near the battery & swap em over :)
